Even before Wednesday’s battle with Eddie Kingston, social media surrounding AEW and TNT Champion Cody Rhodes was buzzing about one name. It’s not a name casual fans have heard, and it’s not a name you may expect, but it’s a name the people want. AEW wants to give the people what they want, so they’ve revealed that independent star Warhorse will be next in line in Cody’s open challenge. Warhorse was heavily rumored to be in this week’s title match, spurring from evidence like Arn Anderson mentioning his name and a quickly announced title match for his current Beyond Wrestling championship belt. We’ll see if Warhorse is already set for bigger things in All Elite or if this is just a one night gig.
