Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson explained why Paul Heyman is a “bold-faced liar”—and how he reportedly screwed them over on their way out of WWE.
Gallows and Anderson debuted their Talk’N Shop podcast last night and talked about everything from signing with IMPACT to their WWE releases in April. AJ Styles recently called Heyman a liar and said Gallows and Anderson could shed more light on the issue, and they set the record straight on last night’s show. According to the duo, they once had a conversation where Heyman said if he ever lied to them they could go on social media and “bury” him because “wanted those guys in the locker room to know that I can’t fucking be trusted.”
According to a source speaking with the two, their WWE releases were facilitated by Heyman, and AJ Styles confronted him about the issue and Heyman denied playing a role in the matter and said he was telling the truth, adding that he would have gone to bat for them. Gallows and Anderson’s source insisted Heyman was being deceitful, so Styles went straight to Vince McMahon for the truth and Vince told him that he didn’t plan on firing the two and it was a “Heyman thing.” The two did note that it was ultimately a Vince call in the end, but he originally didn’t have them on his list of cuts.
Gallows said the general belief was that Heyman, who was still running RAW at that point, thought they were making too much money for the roles they were in. Styles had previously voiced his frustrations with Gallows and Anderson’s releases, noting that he felt like he let his family down. The two said Styles went to WWE officials and said he didn’t want to work with Heyman anymore and was moved to SmackDown, contrasting the rumor that he had been “bullied” off of RAW.
“I have permission to speak freely on this and he said fucking bury Paul and tell the truth about it. That’s why he said he couldn’t work with him and that he had to be moved,” Gallows said, “because Paul’s a fucking liar.
Gallows said it doesn’t matter that he lied to them, but it’s more about the fact that he lied to AJ, who didn’t trust him and want to work with him at that point.
Gallows and Anderson also confirmed that they have signed with IMPACT Wrestling and will appear at Slammiversary tonight. Check out the full show at the top of this page.
