Tony Khan was the newest guest on AEW Unrestricted and the AEW President saddled up to Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards to make an announcement regarding the company’s second show on Turner Broadcasting. Khan reveals that the second show will be one hour long. He adds that he’s very happy with how the AEW product is progressing and feels that an extra hour of television will be the perfect compliment to it’s Wednesday night Dynamite product.
“I think it is a viable structure that we don’t need to wrestle five, six nights a week that we can get together and put together a great Wednesday Night Dynamite and get some great content and we are going to be developing more shows and more content, but I also don’t want to oversaturate. I think there’s a sweet spot and so I’m never going to try & produce so many shows that you can’t keep track of what we’re doing. To me a two-hour Dynamite and now the new hour show we’re going to develop is a perfect amount of TV. If you want more content, we’re gonna put things on YouTube, we’ll put things on B/R Live, but really I think a two-television hour show and then an additional one-hour television show as a complimentary show, I think is going to be really strong and that’s another part of the announcement we haven’t really gotten into today is the development of a third hour of television that is also going to be huge for us and allow a lot of our young roster more exposure more chances to work on television.”
Khan continues:
“You don’t want to try to fit too much in and it’s honestly like in the fourteen shows we’ve done, I think it’s a lesson at times we’ve learned that like that the best shows we’ve done have been the shows in my opinion where we let things breath and everything had a chance.”
