In-Ring Segment: Beth Phoenix
Phoenix says she is here to give a medical update on her husband Edge. Randy Orton’s music hits. Orton slowly walks to the ring. Orton tries to hug Phoenix. Phoenix doesn’t allow it. Orton tries to shake Phoenix’s hand. Phoenix says he is crazy if he thinks she would hug him. Phoenix calls Orton a son of a bitch. Orton sits on the top rope. Phoenix says she is here as a wife and mother. Orton circles Phoenix before asking for a mic. Orton says he knows that after what he did Edge will never wrestle again. Orton says he owes Phoenix an explanation. Orton tells the story of his father taking him to a WWE show to meet with a few of the officials. At that point, Orton was just a fan. Edge was the only person who showed Orton’s father respect that day. When Bob Orton told Edge that Orton wanted to be a WWE Superstar, Edge shook Orton’s hand and wished him luck. Edge told Orton that maybe one day they would get to work together. Fast forward a few years and Orton and Edge were tag team champions.
Orton adds that at his lowest point Edge saved his life. When Edge returned, Edge thought he would be back for good. Orton knew that someone would try to take Edge out and they may have crippled him. Orton had to take out Edge so that Phoenix and her daughters would still have a husband and a father. Everyone thinks this is Orton’s fault but it’s really Phoenix’s fault. Phoenix is an enabler. Edge is a junkie for the roar of the crowd. Phoenix did nothing to stop this. Orton did what he had to do for their family because he loves them all. Orton says he loves Edge and their daughters more than Phoenix ever could. Phoenix is crying. Phoenix slaps Orton. Phoenix kicks Orton in the gut. Orton obliterates Phoenix with an RKO.
