Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has some new details in regards to Brian Cage’s potential future in wrestling.
According to Meltzer in the latest edition of his WON, Cage’s contract with IMPACT Wrestling either just expired or is very close to doing so. Meltzer notes that Cage isn’t advertised for IMPACT’s upcoming set of tapings this weekend in Mexico City.
In regards to the rumors that Brian Cage has or will be signing with All Elite Wrestling, Meltzer reports that Cage was planning to sign with the company and may have not as of yet.
Steve Bryant of SoCalUncensored first released the report last week that Cage signed a multi-year deal with AEW, but Melissa Santos (Cage’s wife) shot down the news, stating that Cage hasn’t signed with anyone. It was later reported by PWInsider that the reasoning behind Cage not facing Rob Van Dam at IMPACT’s Hard To Kill PPV was because of injury, not because of contract status. Meltzer in his Newsletter states that AEW hasn’t confirmed or denied the news when it comes to Cage, but Meltzer does support Bryant’s track record of reporting accurate news regarding California based wrestling talent.
