Tessa Blanchard was a guest on today’s Busted Open Radio and discussed her upcoming title match against Sami Callihan at IMPACT Hard to Kill. In one of the most interesting moments, she addressed those that dislike intergender wrestling.
“No matter what happens in life people are going to have something to say,” said Blanchard in regards to those that disrespect intergender wrestling. “The way that I look at it is that no matter what you go through, be it a positive or a negative, if you’re able to turn the way you think about it into a positive then you’ll be able to get through it. I feel like anyone that is put in the position that I’m in going into this Sunday, it’s different. People aren’t used to it. Some might not be okay with it because it’s not traditional.
“It’s not what we’ve seen all the time but that’s what I love about it. I love that it’s different and something that hasn’t been done before. I think it makes it special and draws more attention to our company. I’m pretty good at having mental strength, I feel like I’m one of the strongest minds because of my dad. He always told me that mental strength is so important if you want to be successful in this business. People used to say that I was only where I was because of my last name … I started pro wrestling without telling my family and wrestled for years without them knowing about it.”
