Former WWE superstar and legendary wrestler Gene Snitsky recently sat down with The Hannibal TV, where he discussed a handful of topics, including teaming up with Goldust for a brief stint in the WWE.
When Goldust was brought up, Snitsky revealed that both he and Goldust were initially scheduled to win the tag team championships, but that was eventually canceled due to personal issues surrounding Goldust. “We were actually supposed to get the [titles] because Goldust’s dad was on the creative team at the time,” he said. “He would always buzz me on what they were going to be doing. We were supposed to get merch, tag team belts and everything, but he was going through a divorce with his wife.”
Snitsky went on to say that he wasn’t too upset about the missed opportunity, because he would rather Goldust get mentally healthy first. However, he did lament the fact that the two never made it as a big team, especially because of the chemistry he says he and Goldust had. “It would have been cool, we had great chemistry, we had a lot of fun wrestling together, we had a lot of fun outside of the ring, he said. “Probably one of my, still favorite guys to work with. But hey, everything happens for a reason.”
