Chris Jericho took to social media on Saturday to issue a challenge to New Japan Pro-Wrestling superstar Hiroshi Tanahashi. In a video shared to Instagram, Jericho said that if Tanahashi could defeat Jericho at the upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 14 event, that he would be able to challenge Jericho for the AEW Championship.
This makes the match between Jericho and Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 14 an even bigger deal, as the stakes have just risen by much more. Wrestle Kingdom 14 is a two-day event and starts on January 4, and will be able to be watched on either NJPW World of Fite TV. Jericho and Tanahashi’s match will take place on the second night of the event, on January 5.
