The main event of NXT TakeOver: WarGames saw The Undisputed Era take on a team captained by Tommaso Ciampa. “Daddy” Ciampa had teased a special guest member, but the match began with only three members: Ciampa, Dominik Dijakovic, and Keith Lee.

Ciampa started off the match opposite Roderick Strong, who quickly threw Ciampa’s cane out of the caged structure. After the first five minutes had expired, Strong was joined by his teammate Kyle O’Reilly. The two began to work over Ciampa until Dijakovic entered the bout. Lee and Cole would enter next, and all the fans were curious if Ciampa’s team had another member or not.

With The Undisputed Era in control and Cole introducing several tables into the match, Team Ciampa was simply outnumbred. However, Kevin Owens came out and started running roughshod over Cole and his friends. Things looked over after he hit a stunner on Cole, but it was broken up by his teammates.

The match nearly ended after Cole hit a Panama Sunrise on Owens in the metal plating in between the two rings, but nobody had enough energy to pin him. The end finally came after Ciampa picked up Cole at the top of the cage and slammed him through a table.
