Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was a guest on the premiere episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show filling in for Kevin Hart, who was unable to attend due to being injured in a car accident, and promote the upcoming “Jumanji” sequel.

On not letting fame impact him too much:
Fame is tricky. Fame can be a very tricky thing as you guys can imagine. It can be very intoxicating to people. I feel like with fame, I felt early that it was important to keep perspective and that fame is like a microscope that magnifies who you are and what you have in your DNA and your soul. Your true colors. I think what has helped me and my family is remembering where I’ve come from and keeping the hard times I’ve went through in the past at the forefront of my mind. Help lead and guide me. That way if we’re lucky enough to have any success come our way, you take it with a grain of salt and are grateful it happened. It’s not everything and just like that it can all change. So, I try to live in gratitude every day.
On Kevin Hart’s accident:
Everything is good. I spoke with Kevin, I actually refer to him as my son, I connected with him today and these things happen in life. Thankfully, he was strapped in nicely into his car seat. That’s real love, guys. I’m only kidding. We spoke with the pediatrician … He’s doing very well. He was bummed he couldn’t be here as you know. He’s one of my best friends, and it could have been a lot worse. He’s a lucky man and he knows it too. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery.
His private wedding:
We had the best wedding. We got married in Hawaii on a cliff. My lovely bride Lauren, we met probably six weeks ago … I’m kidding … We’ve been together for over 10 years. It was a beautiful wedding and with something like this, it’s hard to keep under wraps. It was so private. There were maybe 10 people with our babies and it was just the best wedding.
[Life] is noisy, like you know. We wanted to pivot and go the other way.
