Tonight’s 205 Live was a big one, with Kalisto and Ariya Daivari going out, while we also get to witness the fallout from last week’s Captain’s Challenge. The show starts with a clip from last week, showing Drake Maverick congratulating Oney Lorcan and Humberto Carrillo for their victory before penciling in a #1 contenders match for tonight, seeing as how they both have won over Drew Gulak now.
Ariya Daivari defeats Kalisto via pinfall
Perhaps not the biggest match we expected, but things still got off to a hot start by both superstars. Unfortunately, Daivari’s Pepsi Twist was all he needed to take down Kalisto and claim a major victory. After the match, Daivari looked to continue assaulting Kalisto, but the remaining Lucha House Party members saved the day.
Humberto Carrillo defeats Oney Lorcan via pinfall
Carrillo shocked many tonight but taking down Lorcan, landing an incredible corkscrew splash from the top to keep Lorcan down enough to win. The victory makes Carrillo the new number one contender to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. After the victory, Drew Gulak appeared in video form to congratulate Carrillo, although he did end things by reminding everyone who the champion was.
