Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting an interesting note regarding the Ricochet and Elias match that went down last night on WWE RAW.
Meltzer reports that Elias’ shoulders being up during the pinfall win by Ricochet was 100% not supposed to happen. Elias was supposed to keep his shoulders down. Additionally it’s always protocol for the referee to count what he sees, and the ref still made the three count despite the clear visual that Elias’ shoulders were up. On top of that, Vince McMahon makes it part of the program for the announcers to call attention to it so they don’t lose credibility otherwise and it doesn’t come across as sloppy work.
