The Rock Admits That He ‘Quietly Retired’ From Professional Wrestling

In an interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan promoting Hobbs & Shaw, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson dropped a status update for his wrestling career. After saying that he misses getting in the ring, The Rock confirms that he “quietly retired” from wrestling. He states that he accomplished what he wanted to accomplish in WWE and he’s happy to stick to movies as of now. He also talks about his debut, which took place in Madison Square Garden.

The Rock last wrestled for WWE at WrestleMania 32, squashing Erik Rowan in just a few seconds. His last matches of note were against John Cena in the famous “Twice in a Lifetime” duology, also on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Despite his quiet retirement, we can all assume that Rocky will be making continued appearances for the company alongside fellow retired legends like Steve Austin, HBK, and Mick Foley.
