G1 Climax Tournament Match: KENTA vs. Kota Ibushi
The two men match each other’s every step and attempted strike. KENTA slaps Ibushi in the face and Ibushi gives one right back to him. KENTA kicks Ibushi and hits a diving knee to the back of Ibushi’s head. He rocks Ibushi with some kicks and grounds him with a side headlock. KENTA has all the momentum and soaks in the crowd’s cheers. Ibushi fights back and drops KENTA with a dropkick. A powerslam and a moonsault get Ibushi a near fall.
KENTA hits a leg lariat and tosses Ibushi over his head. Ibushi reverses a tornado DDT off the top and knocks Kenta down to the apron. He nails a backflip kick and lands badly on his leg when he attempts a dive to the outside. KENTA hits a diving double stomp with Ibushi hung over the barricade. Two running dropkicks and a diving footstomp get KENTA a near fall. Ibushi floors KENTA with a clothesline.
A sitout powerbomb gets Ibushi a near fall. Both men trade strikes and KENTA gets a near fall with a stiff kick to the head. Four more hard head kicks drop Ibushi for another near fall. KENTA hits the Go to Sleep for the win.
Winner: KENTA
KENTA helps Ibushi up after the match and he falls to his knees as KENTA and the crowd applaud him. Ibushi and KENTA shake hands and hug.
G1 Climax Tournament Match: Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi
The two rivals trade strikes and counters. Tanahashi slams Okada and taunts afterwards. Okada dropkicks Tanahashi off the top rope. He plants Tanahashi with a DDT on the floor. A Dragon Screw leg whip lets Okada keep the momentum and he grounds Tanahashi. A Dragon Screw of his own gives Tanahashi a chance to recover. A running dropkick and a slam gives Tanahashi the momentum and a senton gets him a near fall.
Okada hits a diving elbow drop but Tanahashi almost rolls him up. Tanahashi locks in a Texas Cloverleaf but Okada reaches the ropes. Tanahashi hits a diving crossbody to the outside. A neckbreaker drops Okada but he hits a running dropkick. Tanahashi hits a slingblade but Okada nails a Tombstone. Another slingblade puts Okada down and Tanahashi hits another diving crossbody. Okada blocks a splash off the top but Tanahashi blocks another Tombstone. Two Rainmakers floor Tanahashi but he almost gets a three count with a roll-up and a bridging dragon suplex on two pin attempts.
Tanahashi blocks another Rainmaker but another Tombstone and a Rainmaker get Okada the win.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada
After the match, Okada grabs a microphone; he talks about NJPW coming to America and he vows to win the tournament.
