On being called an influence to younger guys:
Yeah I get that sometimes. The style that many of the guys are doing now like Seth Rollins. Some other guys that came up in the same era as me I think are better than me. I put myself in the right place at the right time more than they did. I am not downplaying my ability but there are several guys like me that brought it to the forefront. Nobody worked that style when I got to WWE but now its the prevalent style. Rollins is what, 215 pounds, and that is the heavyweight champion.
On recommending Matt Riddle for a tryout and him becoming successful afterwards:
I’m sure it helped that I gave my stamp of approval. Somebody would have eventually seen him. If you make it to the monster factory, you know that person worked their ass off. When I saw him get in the ring and do some things, I was thinking he was coming up with many new ways to do things. His execution was amazing and I just knew [he would be successful].
On being interested in a scouting role:
If they asked me to do that. Some of us already get involved informally when we are out. I’m more of a teacher. I am going to the performance center next week to work with the guys for two weeks.
