I recently had the chance to speak with PCO ahead of this weekend’s Ring Of Honor events in Pittsburgh and Columbus. PCO talked about losing the ROH World Tag Team Championship to Guerrillas Of Destiny at G1 Supercard last weekend, but said there is a lot on the horizon for Villain Enterprises:
“There’s always the possibility of going in there and trying to get our titles back. We also have the Crockett Cup coming up, so that’s a big focus right now, the tournament for the NWA Tag Team Championship belts. We’re also ready to defend the Ring Of Honor Six Man Tag Team titles, so there’s a lot of work ahead of us. We’re going to try and get as much gold as possible.”
PCO talked about his NWA memories growing up, saying he learned about the promotion through magazines, but holds the company in regard due to their lineage:
“As a kid, I have memories of the old NWA before it became WCW. I remember Magnum TA, the Road Warriors. Being from Montreal, we didn’t have much access to the [television broadcasts], but it was mostly through the magazines where we’d see the images of the NWA. The [NWA Worlds Championship] was very prestigious, and what I like about those titles is the fact that it’s the same belt. It’s like if you won the Stanley Cup, you want to touch the Cup. There are historical moments, and that’s what I think makes NWA prestigious; they have the history in each and every title.”
Villain Enterprises will take on New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata in the first round of Block A. PCO called it “a tough match right from the get-go” and said the team is very talented, but he’s looking forward to facing them. The other matchup in the A block will see The Briscoes face the legendary Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, which PCO said will present an interesting dynamic. He said the team calls back to nostalgia but remains very in-demand, and sees it as a sign of respect in having them in the tournament.

One of the more talked about elements of last weekend’s show was the appearance of Enzo Amore and Big Cass at the conclusion of the four-way tag team match. PCO says he wasn’t sure what exactly when down as it happened, and learned more on social media about the incident, but still remains unsure about the duo’s status with ROH:
“To be totally honest with you, I didn’t really know that was Enzo and Cass. I didn’t really know what was going on. I had just taken a powerbomb from the inside [to the floor]. I got up and tried to leave, but went back down. I could see that something was wrong, but I didn’t know. I didn’t even know if it was fans that jumped over or if some other wrestlers were involved. I couldn’t tell what was going on, it was just like you or anyone else reading or finding out on social media what happened.
I assume that they might be at the TV tapings this weekend, but I haven’t seen their names on any lists. I don’t know what’s going on with that issue. I don’t know if they do have a starting date or what’s going on. I’m just being honest with you, I don’t know what the situation is with Enzo and Cass. Are they going to appear like [they did running in at G1 Supercard] or are they going to sit down with executives and get a contract going? It’s all up in the air. I don’t know if they’re going to be signed or aren’t signed, if [footage of their run-in] will be shown this weekend.
I didn’t really ask any questions. I went back home and concentrated on my working out and training and getting ready for the next tour, and I’m going to find out this weekend what’s going on with them.”
With Ring Of Honor bringing Steel City Excellence to Pittsburgh, I asked if PCO had any special memories of the city. PCO recalled being in town for WWF King Of The Ring 1998, the event most remembered for Mankind’s Hell In A Cell dive. PCO also recalled his time working as the Jean-Pierre Lafitte character and a particular angle to signal the debut:
“Something that does stick out in my mind was during an event in WWE, we were on the three rivers [Pittsburgh’s meeting point of the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio rivers] for a boat ride. I jacked the ship as Jean-Pierre Lafitte. [laughs] I took control of the boat, and that appeared in the WWF Magazine. That was a big angle, a big way to show that the pirate was taking over the Federation. That was a good moment.”
Ring Of Honor is in Pittsburgh this Saturday for Steel City Excellence, followed by Masters Of The Craft in Columbus on Sunday.
