Buddy Murphy and Tony Nese kicked off WrestleMania 35 in style. As the first match on the official kickoff show, the 205 Live stars set a great tempo that other stars will look to follow. In the end, Tony Nese reigned supreme and won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Very early on in the match, Murphy’s right eye was opened up. It bled throughout, but the champion kept coming forward and wasn’t going to let a cut end his night early. Nese had his moments throughout as he hit an incredible springboard moonsault and a great 450 splash. However, Murphy seemed to be a step ahead for most of the bout.

The end almost came after Murphy hit a great jumping knee and delivered Murphy’s Law. However, Nese managed to get his foot on the rope. Nese rallied with a superkick, a German suplex into the corner and then a running Nese to pick up the win.
