Big Show On John Oliver’s WWE Remarks: I Knew The Risks, The Industry Has Changed To Protect The Athlete

Big Show recently spoke with TMZ about John Oliver’s scathing critique of WWE and how they treat their employees, saying things are much different that what was said on Last Week Tonight.

Big Show says he knew the risks involved getting into the wrestling industry, but he’s still moving at age 47, showing the company is doing something right when it comes to taking care of their athletes:

“Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Everybody has their own experiences on how they feel. I’ve had a hell of a career; I’ve had a lot of injuries. I knew from day one stepping through the ropes that it was not an easy job. It was a job that was gonna put myself at risk. I took the paychecks, I took the fame, I took the fortune, and those are the risks that happen.

“That’s just part of the industry, and the industry has changed. It’s done everything it can to protect the athlete and create longevity for the athlete. I’m 47, I’m still rocking and rolling, so they’re doing something right.”

Big Show also talked about this weekend’s Hall Of Fame festivities, including how influential Brutus Beefcake was in his career and the women’s main event.
