Mojo Rawley spoke with TMZ Sports about Rob Gronkowski‘s retirement from the NFL and what it could mean for his potential future in WWE.
Mojo said it wouldn’t shock him one bit to see Gronk in the ring someday, citing his love of wrestling, but said he’s unsure when it would happen. When asked if WWE would be equally as interested in Gronk, Mojo said an athlete and personality like the three-time Super Bowl Champion is exactly what the company looks for in talent:
“I’m absolutely positive they would be pretty receptive to that. A guy that can move the way he can, has his size and overall demeanor and charisma, yeah, that’s kinda what we recruit around. That’s exactly what we’re looking for around here. I’m sure they’d be on board with it, and like you said, there’s been a lot of Superstars that have been from other walks of life that have come here and been successful. That’s the beauty of WWE; everyone’s got their own story, they all have their own path of getting here. It’s just a diverse and unique locker room. He’d be a perfect fit. Absolutely.”
Mojo was also asked to send Gronk a message if he saw this video, and he said his friend already knows what he’s going to say:
“He already knows how I feel about his football career, he knows what the message is. Let’s go, baby! It’s time to turn up. The handcuffs are off, you don’t have the Patriots and the NFL locking you down anymore. If you thought Gronk was wild before, I’m telling you… I’m telling you, wait until you see him without the shackles on because it’s a whole ‘nother beast. I’m actually pretty excited about this.”
