Cain Velasquez Seriously Considering Wrestling In 2019
With Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler all successfully making the jump from mixed martial arts to professional wrestling, rumors have swirled about who’s next to jump into the fray. Particularly, it looks like Cain Velasquez is ready to try his hand at grappling. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s far from a done deal, but it could happen.
Obviously, UFC would have to okay this for contract reasons, but there is significant talk of Cain Velasquez doing some high-profile pro wrestling this year.
Cain has already had training sessions at the WWE Performance Center. He’s a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, but he’s said in the past that he would treat pro wrestling with respect. He wants to take his time and literally learn the ropes before bursting onto the scene. Does that mean he’s ready in 2019? Only time will tell.

WWE Showcases Superstars as Fans
Recently, on Instagram and WWE.com, WWE has gathered a set of images of current superstars in younger days alongside some of their heroes. In the full gallery, you can see Roman Reigns posing next to a Trish Stratus standee, Peyton Royce posing with Jeff Hardy and Mickie James, and Bayley grabbing the shoulder of John Cena. The best shot is maybe Ricochet sporting very long hair alongside a young Triple H. It’s like one of Trips’ famous NXT Kids photos, only years too early.
