Harley Race has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, according to comments made by Ric Flair at a live appearance last night.
Flair was appearing last night with Hulk Hogan as part of an advertised “Legends Of The Ring” event at SoundWaves in Atlantic City, and made the remarks during a fan question and answer portion of the show. PWP Nation owner Jay Alletto was in attendance, and posted the unfortunate news about Race, as well as some other highlights from the show.
According to Alletto, Flair “spoke about how tough Harley is & told stories of Race smoking cigars, trying to fight entire bars full of people & how great of a guy he is.” He added that the news of the diagnosis got a collective gasp from the audience. Hogan also spoke candidly about Race, saying he threatened to break Hulk’s knees when the WWF went to a specific city, before Race joined the company.
