All Elite Wrestling has gained a tremendous buzz this year and managed to sell out its first event, Double or Nothing. According to Bully Ray, it’s because the brand has a cool factor attached to them similar to ECW did in its heyday. He explained as much on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio.
“They’re doing something different, something cool and special,” said Bully Ray. “I’m gonna put a lot of emphasis on cool. Everyone associated has a coolness factor to them. I’ve always said that ECW was the Napster of pro wrestling business. I believe AEW is the Facebook of pro wrestling right now. … I don’t know if AEW even knows what they have yet, it’s just cool. You can tell how cool it is by how quickly All In sold out, how great the show was, when they sell out 14,000 seats in four minutes. To me, that’s cool.”
