Original Plans For AEW Double Or Nothing, Possible Third Show Being Scheduled For 2019

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting the latest in his Observer Newsletter of some of the details surrounding the AEW Double Or Nothing show as it comes to original plans for the event, a possible time frame for the company’s second show in Jacksonville and the other possibility of a third show being scheduled in 2019.

According to Meltzer, original plans for Double Or Nothing was to have the event at the T-Mobile Arena, home for the Las Vegas Golden Knights, but there was a concern that the show could interfere with a potential playoff games if the Knights happen to make it that far, and even though the chances were slim of any interference going, down the decisoin was to hold it at the MGM Grand despite it being a smaller venue.

One of the reasons Las Vegas was chosen, according to Meltzer, was because it would have a fly-in crowd and Chicago’s All In greatly consisted of a fly-in crowd. The show will also air on PPV, likely both in streaming and TV formats.

As far as the second show in Jacksonville is concerned, that will take place in the summer and while there is a lot to work out regarding the event, it should likely take place in July or close to that.

Finally, Meltzer reports that a third unannounced show is likely to go down in Chicago, once again over Labor Day weekend, speculatively at the Sears Center, all in celebration of the one-year anniversary of All In. This, if to occur, would also be a PPV show.
