#5.) John Cena
Some of you may be surprised that this makes the list when he’s faced many other icons and had heated rivalries during his peak at the Attitude Era. However, the reason this is here is because of how significant it was at the time. When The Rock returned to WWE after years, it was a huge deal and his match with John Cena at WrestleMania 28 was announced a full year in advance.
It was two of the biggest stars of two different eras and in the course of two WrestleMania‘s, they smashed PPV records together. WrestleMania 28 till date remains the highest-selling PPV in WWE history. Although the match was less anticipated the year after that, they still managed to cross the one million mark. Not many of The Rock’s opponents can say they’ve done that, with or without him.
