A side of André that not many people remember is his comedic side. In a heated feud with Jake “The Snake” Roberts in 1989, WWE decided to play off André’s real-life fear of snakes and channel it into a feud with the legendary Jake Roberts.
During a show hosted by Brother Love, Bobby Heenan came out with André to talk about Jake “The Snake” Roberts and insisted that André wasn’t scared of Roberts nor was he scared of snakes. André would respond in the funniest way possible and his reaction and the subtle humor gave a peak of the loveable giant that people knew for many years. Despite being a heel, he pulled it off with conviction and showed a side of him that often goes overlooked.
