Sheamus had an incredibly quick rise to the top. There was never an Irish superstar before who caught the eye of WWE the way he did and he debuted on ECW and stayed there for a short while before jumping over to RAW. While a few did predict that WWE would eventually have big things planned, nobody expected that his rise to the top would only take a few months.
After debuting on RAW, Sheamus became the #1 contender for the WWE title right off the bat and at the tail end of the decade in 2009, he defeated John Cena in shocking fashion to win his first of many World Championships.
