#1.) ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin – 1996
The first entry had to end with only winner – ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. The 1996 tournament was so important for Austin because it played a great deal in giving him momentum going forward. He also happened to debut the stunner in the start of the tournament and eventually went through the likes of Savio Vega, Marc Mero and finally Jake “The Snake” Roberts to become King of The Ring.
It was here where he used the famous “Austin 3:16” line – one that helped him shoot up to the stratosphere. Less than two years later, he would become the face of the company and the industry.
