Kurt Angle revealed that in January 2006, The Undertaker had approached him and said that since he knew they didn’t want to go with him as champion, Angle should have been the one. He openly stated his desire to put Angle over at WrestleMania 22 and felt he was deserving of it. Moreover, it was a WrestleMania match that he always wanted.
Unfortunately for Angle, Vince McMahon shot it down and instead, they had a couple of matches before WrestleMania. Unsurprisingly, both were incredible classics.
