Batista defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Royal Rumble winner The Undertaker. It was an exciting clash, one that many thought (including Batista & The Undertaker themselves) would main event WrestleMania. Both superstars were reportedly furious that they weren’t main eventing the show, but that didn’t stop them from having an instant classic at the grandest stage of them all.
The atmosphere was intense. Despite the match being face vs face, the two despised each other on-screen and the crowd wasn’t behind the normally-popular Batista. They would have an epic contest, where The Undertaker’s streak was in jeopardy on more than one occasion. However, he still managed to extend his streak and walk out World Heavyweight Champion.
