#5.) Jack Swagger
Jack Swagger belonged to the category of “legitimate athletes” in WWE, being in NCAA-level competitor in amateur wrestling. He transitioned well into pro wrestling and backstage officials probably felt like they had a major star in their hands. They weren’t wrong about that at all, but the decision to have him win the MITB briefcase at WrestleMania 26 in 2010 proved to be a big mistake, as Swagger just wasn’t ready for the big spotlight yet.
Sure, he became World champion a few days later, but that run proved to be a flop. It didn’t do justice to Swagger, because they really should have taken more time in building him up before giving him that accolade.
