#3.) Goldberg

Goldberg’s 2016-17 run will be looked back with a lot more fondness a few years from now, but there’s absolutely no denying that his return run was one of the greatest comebacks in WWE history. It was a very simple story about a man who wanted to right his wrong and show his son the superhero that he once was.

His run would consist of all but four matches, but he got to go out in incredible fashion. The story was to rectify what happened against Brock Lesnar 13 years prior, and after squashing him in 86 seconds at Survivor Series 2016, he would go on to win the Universal title in seconds before facing Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.

Fans wondered how they would right their wrong from their disastrous WrestleMania 20 match, but in a quick 5-minute match, they put any shadow of a doubt away. It was booked to perfection, with the two going all out in a quick match. It was intense and felt like a real shoot fight, all ending with Brock Lesnar giving Goldberg his first-ever clean defeat. It would also kickstart a 500+ day Universal title run for The Beast Incarnate.

The next night on RAW, Goldberg gave an emotional farewell to the WWE Universe.
