#5.) vs Rick Rude – Summerslam 1988
This match was all about retribution for The Ultimate Warrior. His feud with Rude had technically begun at the Royal Rumble that same year, and it led to a WrestleMania match, where Rude used dirty underhanded tactics (i.e, assistance from Bobby Heenan) to get the win over The Ultimate Warrior and pick up the Intercontinental Championship.
Warrior would have to go through a big hurdle in the form of Andre The Giant after that, facing him on house shows and building his way back up. At the summer of ’88, Warrior re-entered the Intercontinental Championship picture, seeking retribution against Rick Rude. He would finally get it, thanks in part to a little distraction from “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. It was one of the greatest victories of Warrior’s career.
