Jake Roberts had done wonders to put The Undertaker over. In fact, The Undertaker was still young and just over a year into his WWE run. After the conclusion of his epic feud with Randy Savage, Roberts was about to attack both him and Miss Elizabeth, but The Undertaker, who was aligned with him at the time, prevented it from happening.
Their feud would culminate at WrestleMania VIII, where Undertaker racked up his second win at the grandest stage of them all. It really helped establish The Undertaker as a future star, and it also turned out to be Roberts’ last match in the company for around four years or so. The backstage circumstances leading up to the match weren’t very good, and things were tense between Roberts and Vince McMahon.
