#2.) The Pipebomb
CM Punk’s pipebomb in 2011 saw him shoot to new heights of popularity that he had never seen before. He became the hottest commodity in WWE and although it wasn’t actually the first promo of it’s kind, it was amped up to another level as he broke the fourth wall, referencing Ring Of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Colt Cabana and even went as far as insulting management and their affection for the company golden boy, John Cena.
It was the beginning of an incredible run for Punk and WWE’s version of the Summer Of Punk storyline. It shot him up to main event status and he became the most popular star in the company.
