The stipulation of the match was that the winner would secure the WWE Championship main event match at WrestleMania 29 against The Rock. While it came as a surprise that the match was on free TV, that didn’t stop Punk and Cena from putting on one of the most memorable matches in Monday Night RAW history.
Punk and Cena were like wrestling soulmates and their chemistry with each other was unparalleled. When watching, it felt more like a fight and both competitors gave everything they had because they really wanted that main event. It was Cena’s time to shine and he defeated his old rival in the conclusion of an epic series of matches against each other.
