#1.) Bret Hart
Bret Hart, simply put, was Shawn Michaels’ most important rival. They were the two faces of the New Generation Era and it’s well known that backstage, they weren’t exactly fond of each other. This translated beautifully on-screen and they would have a rivalry that defined an entire generation.
They were the two best in-ring performers of their generation and many consider them to be the best even till date. It’s hard to argue when you had two such incredible performers at their peak. It’s a shame that it had to end abruptly in the Montreal Screwjob.
