Kane was involved in a rather bizarre storyline with Lita that’s best less talked about. She turned on him, however, and aligned with Edge, who she was in a real-life controversial relationship with at the time. Edge was beginning to gain some serious momentum as a heel and his alignment with Lita gained nuclear heat and made Kane a sympathetic babyface.
They had a very entertaining feud that mostly took place on RAW. The Devil’s Favorite Demon defeated Edge in their first match before losing almost all the following matches. However, it was a feud used to elevate Edge and it gave him a big rub as he would then feud with Matt Hardy and months later, cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase to become WWE Champion.
