3. Chamber of Horror Match – Halloween Havoc 1991
This was just the third year for the Halloween-themed event but WCW wanted to kick off the show with something it thought would be unique and special. That was the first, and what turned out to be the only, Chamber of Horrors match.
On one side, it was Sting, El Gigante, and The Steiner Brothers against the team of Cactus Jack, Vader, Abdullah the Butcher, and The Diamond Studd. Believe it or not, the original bad guy team was supposed to include Oz, One Man Gang, and Barry Windham joining Studd but the lineup was changed at the last minute.
And the anything-goes match inside a steel cage couldn’t end via pinfall or submission. No, the match ended when one of your opponents was strapped down to an electric chair and electrocuted. Seriously.
The entire concept was absurd and a complete trainwreck that ended with Cactus Jack trying to flip the switch on Rick Steiner but instead zapped his teammate Abbie who badly shook wildly about as he acted like he was being hit with 100,000-watts of electricity.
