4. Hollywood Hogan vs. Roddy Piper in a Steel cage Match – Halloween Havoc 1997
On the same night that featured one of the greatest cruiserweight matches of all-time between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero, WCW decided to end the show with this gem between two aging stars.
Hulk Hogan was 44 and Roddy Piper was 43 and while neither was necessarily old, both were well past their prime and not close to being in good shape. It didn’t take long before they were both huffing and puffing with neither man interested in taking any bumps despite this being billed as a grudge match inside a steel cage.
Even a run-in by Randy Savage didn’t help matters in a match that also included a fan jumping in the ring only to get pounded. This was a utter mess that was quickly dubbed “Age in the Cage”.
