Clash Of The Champions in 1988 went head-to-head with WrestleMania IV and was supposed to be Jim Crockett’s answer to the grand spectacle. The main event featured Ric Flair defending his NWA World title against the young up-and-comer, Sting.
It was an incredible display for Sting who had yet to have such a high-profile match-up. It went all the way up till a 45-minute draw but the match made Sting. He owes a large part of his Stardom to the Nature Boy himself. It was a bout of epic proportions and among the very best matches that one can see.
