Carmella’s most high profile title defence as champion came in the form of a triple threat match, where she would defend the title against Charlotte and Becky Lynch, both former SmackDown Women’s Champions. The triple threat dance turned out to be a great, entertaining bout that saw Charlotte Flair snatch the victory from Becky Lynch, who was seconds away from becoming champion.
The match saw the end of Carmella’s reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion. It was after the match that Becky Lynch then turned on Charlotte.
