#4.) vs John Cena – Backlash 2009
Prior to his feud with Jeff Hardy in 2009, John Cena and Edge feuded for the World Heavyweight Championship. Cena had dethroned Edge at WrestleMania and Edge invoked his rematch clause for Backlash. The heated feud saw Edge tell-off John Cena and decimate him in a promo, something rarely seen in Cena’s career.
The Last Man Standing match felt like a blood feud and the rivalry and it saw the conclusion of their long-standing rivalry (Though they would face off in a multi-man match later). In a match that felt more like a war, Edge defeated Cena to regain his title (thanks to interference from The Big Show).
Edge would then move to SmackDown seeking greener pastures.
