In a rare instance in 2009, John Cena lost his feud and World Heavyweight Championship to Edge thanks to interference from the Big Show. The World’s Largest Athlete injured Cena in the storyline and they would proceed to have a very entertaining trilogy of matches.
Cena would defeat Big Show two consecutive matches – at Judgement Day and Extreme Rules, the latter of which was a submission match. The Big Show still managed to get the last word as he defeated Cena on RAW afterwards. If you count that as Cena losing the feud, then that was an even rarer case of Cena losing back-to-back feuds.
