In a culmination of Jeff Hardy’s outstanding run in 2008, he would end the year in spectacular fashion, capturing the WWE Championship for the first time. In the final PPV of the year, Jeff Hardy faced Triple H and Edge with the WWE title on the line. Hardy was the guy that the fans wanted to see win, desperately, but wasn’t sure if he was going to.
The classic match concluded when Hardy hit a Swanton Bomb on Edge, pinning him to become World Champion. It was perhaps the best “feel-good” moment of 2008, as The Charismatic Enigma stood on top of the stage, standing tall as WWE Champion.
