Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown Live “Three Main Event Matches Made For SummerSlam”

United States Championship

wwe-united-states-championship

AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens kicked off Smackdown Live in strong fashion, with both men really bringing the intensity to the table. AJ Styles took early control, but Owens was able to turn the tide with a superkick. Kevin Owens was about to unload a punch, but Styles ducked and he hit Mike Chioda in the eye. With the referee down, Owens tried to hit his finisher on Styles. Styles rolled through and counted to three, but Owens’ shoulder was off the mat. The referee did not see and Styles retains the United States Championship.

Controversy makes this feud continue and Kevin Owens was enraged, to the point where he will get another shot at SummerSlam, with Shane McMahon as special guest referee. Great decision from WWE, considering a match with Owens and Shane did not need to be rushed with only two weeks to build it. I think this is the beginning of Owens vs. Shane, with Styles picking up the win at SummerSlam. Kevin Owens will get into that elite and important group that faces a McMahon. He sure as hell deserves it and Smackdown Live gave us a great 30 minutes to open the show.

The Uso’s Mock New Day

This was really good. The Uso’s come out and mock The New Day, even taking their chant and catchphrase. Not much else happened, but I love the fact that Jimmy and Jey Uso are getting an opportunity to be themselves. This is so much more natural and enjoyable when they are not relegated to chanting like a bunch of jabroni’s with face paint. Strip the colors down and let them do themselves. This feud continues to be enjoyable and is amazing that they feuded for such a long time a few years ago and yet it still seems pretty fresh.
