Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown Live “To Look Like a Champion Is Different Than Booked Like a Champion”

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Kevin Owens, But Not Baron Corbin

The Artist took on The Face of America in the main event, with Baron Corbin on commentary. Corbin took out Sami Zayn backstage and would commentate during this match. Owens had a slower and more methodical pace, but Nakamura hit a beautiful kicking combination to get his offense started. Owens would block a back suplex with elbow shots, a clothesline and then climbs to the top. Owens trips him up on the rope and hits a Cannonball into the corner. Owens is ready to finish off Nakamura, but he hits a reverse spin kick to the head and his vintage suplex. Nakamura sets up and hits Kinsasha for the win.

Baron Corbin does not let him celebrate long, as he hits a brutal End of Days to stand tall to end Smackdown Live. I really enjoyed the back and forth action, but it still seemed like this match was too short. Television Matches of this caliber need to be a minimum of 10-12 minutes. This felt rushed and like they were trying to get all of their moves in. Luckily, Baron Corbin standing tall was very smart. Let him, who does not need to be in a match each week, be the one that people fear. He needs to be taken more seriously as a main event guy and not the heel that cannot get past guys like Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn.
