A Shocking Debut

WWE RAW ends with Triple H. Triple H runs down Rollins accomplishments. Triple H notes that all of that happened because Rollins was by his side. For Rollins to get everything he wanted he just needed to hold up his side of the bargain. Rollins collapsed under the pressure. As Rollins stood in the ring with tears in his eyes and handed Triple H the title he was also handing back everything Triple H gave him. When Rollins returned he failed to regain the title. Did Rollins take responsibility for his failure? No, he blamed Triple H. The WWE Universe has no idea how hard it is for him to not be that guy anymore that doesn’t care and ends careers. Triple H gets up every day and puts on this suit and stupid tie and he tries to do the right thing. Triple says he is done doing the right thing.

Triple H takes off his suit jacket and tie. Rollins comes down the ramp. Samoa Joe appears out of nowhere and attacks Rollins. Triple H puts his coat and tie back on. Joe slams Rollins into the barricade over and over again. Joe tosses Rollins into the ring. Joe hits four running sentons. Rollins tries to fire up, but Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch. Rollins passes out.

Talk about an incredible promo, followed by the debut of a future world champion. I loved it and thought this does so much more for Samoa Joe than entering the Royal Rumble and end up losing. If he were to win, that would be better. That was such a long shot, though. When was the last time a guy who never had a match on RAW or Smackdown main event WrestleMania?

Samoa Joe and many NXT people are Triple H’s “boys.” We know that and get that. I love the idea of him being called the creator of these stars, especially some who were established well before he got his hands on them. It can make for an incredible storyline down the road with all of these NXT guys either in a storyline or feuding with one another. It elevates everyone, immediately. For this feud, Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins might fight at WWE Fastlane, but how do you NOT let Joe win? But, how do you let Seth lose before facing Triple H at WrestleMania? Either way, excellent execution on Samoa Joe’s first night.
