Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown Live “New Contenders Mean Absolutely Nothing”

Dolph Ziggler is the New Number One Contender

I will preface this by saying that I will always be a big fan of Dolph Ziggler. I have enjoyed his work for many years, as he is such a valuable piece to Smackdown Live. With that being said, is this the best option for WWE right now? AJ Styles will get a James Ellsworth match soon, but we could not care less about it. Instead of giving Luke Harper, Bray Wyatt, The Miz or others a chance at a world championship feud, WWE simply plays it safe and is going with a proven veteran. My problem is this: nobody truly believes that AJ Styles will eventually lose to Dolph Ziggler.

You are taking suspense and drama out of a main event story. Why do you think Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam fell flatter than a pancake in Florida? Nobody actually believed that he could win. When Dolph was hot, it was because he HAD to win. He does not HAVE to win. In fact, if he wins than WWE is crazy as all hell.

I love Dolph and this is not a diss on him, but more of a diss on Smackdown not having many options. When you HAVE to go back to Dolph Ziggler, it shows that the land of opportunity is not really that. It is more of a land of obsolete talent. The Fatal Four Way match tonight was great, by the way. You should check it out and see that Luke Harper could be a BIG player.
