Everything feels more important when Shinsuke Nakamura is involved, right? Hell, they closed the night with Patrick Clark coming out and challenging the champion. Patrick Clark comes out in a very flamboyant gimmick, one that reminded me of Billy and Chuck or Orlando Jordan in years past. Nakamura promptly kicks him in the gut. Samoa Joe walks out on the ramp. Shinsuke Nakamura sees Joe attempting a sneak attack and the challenger retreats. The Champion hits Clark with the Kinshasa to end the show.

It was not anything too much or anything too serious tonight for their main eventers. They put a piece of fear in the heart of Samoa Joe, a man that tried to eliminate Nakamura for good. There was no need for a big brawl or encounter tonight. I thought Nakamura did a solid job on the mic and got his point across quickly and with intensity. His facial expressions are what really sells him as champion to a higher extent. What I would try to do is pair Tye and Nakamura to battle Joe and Roode in the coming weeks. That could really benefit everyone involved and would be a really nice push for Tye. When you have a guy as powerful in the spotlight as Shinsuke, NXT should try and think about who would be able to share that spotlight with him.
