The Top 10 Best Cage Matches of All-Time

4. Edge vs Kurt Angle (Smackdown 2002)

This match happened in the era of feuding between Edge and Kurt. Angle was the top guy and he was good leverage for Edge’s promotion as the next champion.

Angle was wearing a wig and headgear, because he lost the previous match against Edge and had to shave his hair as part of his shaming. It was awesome; Angle was a true heel.

Edge proved he has what it takes to become a champion. For the majority of the match, he was bleeding, which wasn’t his usual thing. It just proved Edge’s desire to win. There were outrageous moments written in, such as a ref bump, and Angle climbed out to win the match. Hulk Hogan appeared and tossed Angle back in the ring. The ref then came to his senses and the match continued.

The finish was memorable as well, with Angle rushing at Edge, only to be stopped by a Spear off the top. Perfect timing, and a perfect ending to an exciting and well-written Steel Cage bout.
